Rabbi Parr was ordained at Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986. Born in Detroit, he has served congregations in Texas, Georgia and Tennessee for over 30 years. He is also a proud graduate of the University of Michigan, with a degree in History. Rabbi Parr's primary interests of study have been Jewish life in Roman Judea, Rabbinic texts and early Christianity.
Aside from his pulpit duties, Rabbi Parr has also served as a civilian chaplain for the U.S. Army and the VA, a federal prison chaplain and an Adjunct Professor of Jewish Studies at Augusta State University and the University of North Texas. He is married and is the father of two daughters. Rabbi Parr is also the chief spoiler of his infant grandson.
